Dr. Mallard, I am a graduate student pursuing my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology at New York University and I am currently enrolled in a Fluency Disorders course. Your article is extremely insightful and will be very useful for me in the future. I have a few questions mainly about "Talk Time." First I was wondering if you have ever used a fluency shaping method instead of stuttering modification, and if so do you prefer stuttering modification for a reason? About "Talk time" I was wondering, are the parents supposed to do a one on one with the child or both at once? You stated that you would receive "two entries for each parent" does that mean two entries per parent so in the end you would get four entries? And if both parents each fill out two per week after having the 5-minute conversation, should they speak with their child on the same nights, or spread it out throughout the week? Are the parents supposed to talk about stuttering to their child or just about school/friends/life? You also stated that (situational) "monitoring the child through talk time procedure is all that is required," and then what? You're done with them? Do you assign the parents to continue the talk time? I know it's a lot of questions, I'm sorry! -Jaime Heller
