This is a great therapy approach that you have explained. I really like how much you involve the parents in this procedure. I think the five minute talk time is a great idea for all of the reasons you listed as well as for the child to form a bond with his/her parents and to feel supported and comfortable around his/her parents. I think this extra help from the home assignments as well as the support at home can be very helpful for most children.
