I think it would be appropriate for the school SLP, in partnership with the parent, to take the lead in acquainting teachers and school counselors with stuttering and the teasing issue. Since this usually does NOT happen, the NSA advises parents to take the initiative by sitting down with the SLP and others at the beginning of each school year.
