Hey, this is America: We want medication for everything! Actually, efforts to treat stuttering with medications have been going on for decades. In earlier clinical trials the side effects of the medication were worse than stuttering. Today, however, medications that affect brain activity are showing some promise. Much as most PWS would lime a magic pill that cures stuttering, researchers say that's unlikely. However, a combination of medication and speech therapy eventually may help some PWS. In the meantime, people continue to try other medications for anxiety, etc., with mixed results.
