I found it interesting that not all SLP's automatically recommended joining a support group. It is a helpful tool in aiding those who stutter not only for support and confidence, but social acceptance and common ground. I hope that more clinician's are informed of the benefits of NSA and other support groups for stuttering and other communication disorders and recommend them to their clients and the families of clients.
