Hello Karen...ah yes the conundrum. I whole heartedly agree. In my current studies there appears to be a gap between the label of being disabled and accessing special services. Perhaps simply if the disability office re-labelled its name/brand in some fashion then more stutterers and many other people would access their services. Yes professionals and the public need more education and awareness about stuttering and its impacts on the individual and society, and I agree 100% it is up to us the stutterers to take the bull by the horns and tackle it ourselves. We must be pro-active and forthright
