Mr. Meredith, I found this article to be very interesting. I believe that this is a topic that needs to be focused on at many major universities. I have read the previous posts to this article, and found the issue of speech-language programs posting information very interesting. I am a graduate speech-language pathology student, and in our clinic, there is a support group for adults who stutter that meets once a month. I believe that this can provide much support for those attending the university and also those from the community. Although I feel that this is very helpful for people who stutter, I believe that disability concerns should also provide services. I checked my university's website and it did not specifically address people who stutter. So, my question is: how do you suggest we try to promote the acknowledgement of stuttering on these websites? As stated in a previous post, some people who stutter may feel ashamed to advocate for themselves, and you said that global awareness is necessary. How can this be achieved with so many people already aware of stuttering but many lacking the underlying knowledge about the needs of people who stutter?
