Hello Ann, I agree that stuttering needs a much greater focus at universities, especially considering the amount of students out there who fit the category. I also agree about the need for support groups at universities. That would be bliss and very helpful. The problem I guess I see is self-identification. We the PWS are so hard to identitfy and as you know we do not like in general people to know about our stuttering. I am a huge advocate of self help. You cannot rely on the rest of society to do it all for you. I think perhaps we should all get together one day and form a comprehensive guide that could be sent out to all universities world wide. We could also advise on how to make PWS more aware that a university can help them through the academic journey at hand apart from web-based information. To your last point. I think that global awareness is in our hands. Imagine 60 million + voices rising in unison. Imagine if we flooded media, the government and the corporate world with education, discussion and the need to raise funds. We also need high profile stutterers in all sectors to speak out and infront of the audience actually stutter!
