Hello Mr. Meredith I enjoyed reading this article and found it to be a topic not generally addressed enough in course work. I am a graduate student in Speech Language Pathology, and have never considered the university experiences of a person with a stutter (PWS). This paper enlightened me to the lack of support and knowledge to assist PWS in the academic system, specifically from the disability offices. There is no excuse why an office intended to help students with various disabilities should be lacking in information and knowledge regarding stuttering. However, do you believe the primary reason there is this gap in knowledge is because (as you touched upon) there is less student traffic of PWS in these offices? In addition, if more students were to visit these offices and raise awareness regarding their needs do you believe more information would be readily available not only in office, but also online? Finally, aside from the offices lacking in knowledge, what do you think is the foremost reason PWS may not visit offices for students with disabilities?
