Hello Melissa, If this enlightened you then await my full PhD in the future :) . Yes of course less student traffic from PWS does attribute to the problem. I think of it like the classical circle - disability officers lack exposure & information - PWS do not present very often for assistance - disability officers lack exposure & information. The cycle continues. It is up to us the PWS and professionals like yourself to help inform and break the cycle. I think if we raised awareness and helped to shape and create informed information then it would propogate much larger and with more impact. As to your last question of why a PWS may not visit offices for students with disabilities. Hmm interesting. I see some trends emerging in my own research in a number of tracks: shame, pride, not associating with "disability" and a pre-conceived notion that the office would not be able to assist and in some cases would not be overlly willing to. I am still gathering results though but some clear pictures are forming. Also the number of steps involved for some PWS are a deterent.
