Dear Pam, Carol Dweck’s research has already demonstrated that age is not related to seeing problems as threats or challenges. This is related to the conception that the person has about the nature of the skills (if they are static or dynamic). I think the same may be true for stuttering. So perceiving stuttering as a challenge is not something that “naturally” comes with age. Some people get old and still feel stuttering as a threat. It’s not about time, it’s about the way stuttering is seen. Regards, Sandra
