Thank you for an informative article. I enjoyed reading about the application of this research to stuttering. I had a few questions. Do you feel PWS must adopt a master-oriented response before they can begin increasing their fluency? Can a person who sees stuttering as an inherent ability become fluent even if they do not adopt a mastery-oriented response? Does a person’s culture or education play a role in whether they respond to stuttering with a mastery-oriented response or helpless response? Should Speech Language Pathologists work alongside psychologist/psychiatrist to help treat stuttering?
