Dear Linda, thank you for your comment and question. With regard to helpless response, the objective is that the patient could deal with stuttering in his/her life without so much suffering. For example, that he/she could go out and talk with friends without feeling so bad about stuttering; that he/she does not experience so much distress prior to a lecture. Thus, the progresses are measured according to the changes that the patient is able to do in his/her life. Regards, Sandra
