Hi Pam, I am currently a graduate student and would first like to thank you for sharing your personal story. I thought that your article was very helpful for students who want to become a Speech-Language Pathologist. It gave me a lot of great information. I agree that it is important for therapy to be focused on the client. When you said that you and your clinician both did voluntary stuttering, I thought that this was a great idea. I agree that it is very important for a clinician to try and feel what their client is feeling. I recently had to write a paper on my experiences of voluntary stuttering. I believe that this experience increased my awareness and gave me a sense of what it may feel like to be a person who stutters. You also mentioned that honesty was very important, what do you believe are the most important attributes that a clinician should have, other than honesty? Also, you mentioned that you went to therapy support meetings. How important do you think it is for an adult to meet with other people who stutter, during the therapy process? Thank you again for all of your advice.
