Hi Amber, Thanks for reading and reflecting on my comments. I have notreally actively use techniques to reduce my stuttering over the last 3 years. I actually feel that using techniques makes me covert again. Like using a tool is just hiding the stuttering. That might be a very helpful insight for SLPs to have with coverts. BUT, of all the toolsI have at my disposal, voluntary stuttering is most useful, because it allowsme to feel the control that I lack when I stutter, especially block. Sometimes when I am doing a presentation, I will start off with VS, to be sure everyone knows I stutter. Then, usually, I don't need that anymore, because once I am comfortable, my stuttering comes out naturally anyway. Or the VS turns real right away. Sometimes, I have used slowing rate of soeech down, but I actually feel that makes me sound too unnatural. So, mostly its VS.
