Thanks for your honest and informative article. As a graduate student in speech-language pathology, these tips will be invaluable as I begin working with fluency clients. Knowing the story from a client's perspective will help me to be more sensitive to my client's feelings and encourage me to expect the best from myself as a clinician. This article made me realize how much of the client-clinician relationship is directly related to the client's progress in therapy. Client's have certain standards and goals for the clinician, just as the clinician sets goals for the client to acheive in therapy. Thanks for your input, and best regards to you in the future!
