Hi Ashley, I think what I hope student clinicians learn from me and this conference is that stuttering is about so much more than stuttering. It needs a holistic approach, since it is not just about speech mechanics. If the clinician does not get that it is about so much more, and very emotional, they might "treat the wrong thing." Understanding covertness and all the baggage really will help the SLP best help the whole person who stutters.
