Cathy, I found your article very interesting and touching. Thank you for sharing your story! As a graduate student I find hearing people’s life stories helps us better understand the various struggles and experiences individuals who stutter face. I’m curious as to what is your earliest memory of stuttering? Did you stutter as a child, and if so, was there a particular incidence that made you want to hide your stutter instead of being open about it?
