Hi Marina. Thanks for your response. I have only seeked help with my stuttering one time. I went to see an SLP, who I have known for a long time and is great at what he does, and when I found out insurance would not pay, I decided not to go. Regardless of this, I wasn't willing to let my stutter out (to be heard) so I really don't think speech therapy would have helped me. Until I am ready to stutter openly, I do not think speech therapy will help me. The emotional side of stuttering is just as important as therapy itself, even more important I feel. That is what has helped me the most - being able to talk about the emotions, share my stories and fears and be able to talk to others who stutter just like me!
