Alissa, my mom recalls me stuttering as a child but we have not discussed my stuttering since then. Once in awhile she will comment that I used to stutter, like if we are watching a movie and someone stutters in it. I simply ignore it and do not say anything. I know she would be accepting of it but until I am ready to accept it and be open about it, I am okay with not discussing it with my family.
