Elizabeth, that is a great question! If I did not try to hide my stuttering from the beginning then yes, it would be a lot easier. Once you have been doing something for so long, it is hard to stop doing it. If I had someone in my life that forcefully talked to me about it at a young age, maybe I would not have chose to hide. At the same time, I starting hiding so young that my family probably thought I stopped stuttering. I would never recommend anyone hide their stuttering, the emotional baggage outweighs the benefits...
