Great questions Heather, thanks! As a child, I did go to speech therapy so my parents know about my stuttering. After elementary, I decided not to go because I did not want to be pulled out of class so that is when I started to hide my stuttering. The subject was not discussed much in my house and maybe that has something to do with the fact that my parents thought I had stopped because I was hiding it. I know they would have been accepting, and would now, but I am not ready to talk about it with them as I have gone so long...why now. It is hard to go from not talking about it to talking about it - how do you do that after it's been a long time?
