Cathy, this is the first time I've ever read a first-hand account of being a covert PWS and it is truly enlightening. I appreciate and have great respect for your honesty about your experience, so thank you for that. I was wondering, how old were you when you or someone else (i.e. parents, teachers) became aware that you are a PWS? Have you been covert since the beginning so that others didn't notice, or at what age did you become a conscious covert PWS? Also, you mentioned that habits are hard to break, and most of us stutters or non-stutterers can relate to this! Have you found anyone through your support groups or experiences with the NSA who was able to make that leap from being a true covert PWS to someone who advertises and is open about their stuttering on a regular basis?
