Hi Cathy, I have worked as a speech therapist in an elementary school for 12 years. I always had the utmost respect for the courage PWS face everyday, but I was unaware of "covert stuttering" until this year. A new colleague, named Cathy, confided to me that she stutters, yet I did not even notice it when she spoke. So when I saw your article and your name, I knew I had to read your article and also reach out to you. Many thanks for your honesty. Do you have any advice for me as a speech therapist how to best help someone accept their stuttering? It sounds to me that you accept your stuttering, but you are still covert.
