Hello, Cathy/Anne, I found your article compelling: changing your name--an essence of WHO you are--because the other one is "easier" to say. What honesty--and how painful it must've been when you first decided on that route. I was surprised at how long you did wait to decide to seek support, althought, not being a person who stutters, i can't imagine the ties that you might have had to grapple with in order to finally take the actual step.
