Hello Cathy, My name is Samantha and I am a Speech Pathology student at New York University. I wanted to let you know that your article has moved me and helped me to better understand exactly how deep stuttering goes. Your journey with stuttering has been incredible and I think it's amazing that you have now chosen to use your experiences to educate others. If you are willing, I was curious to know more about your childhood. For example, when did you start stuttering and how did your family handle it? Does anybody else in your family stutter; better yet, is there anyone close to you that may have come forward about their stuttering when you did? What were your school years like, and were there any points where you had considered therapy as an option? Reading your article has helped to educate me more than any textbook excerpt I have read about stuttering. It makes me wonder if anybody I have met throughout my life may have been a covert stutterer...
