Callie, I do not practice everything I will say, at least not as much. I find when I speak off the cuff, I do better. When you pre plan what you want to say, it usual comes out wrong and if you get off track, it may mess with the whole conversation. The best advise I can give you in treating covert PWS is to deal with more of the feelings side of stuttering. It is also important to connect them to other PWS their age so they can see they are not alone and have someone who is similar to them that they can share stories with. It is equally important to get the parents on board to provide them with as much information as you can about stuttering so they are well educated on the subject. Getting them to attend local meetings or conferences will change their life...so be sure to tell your clients about the NSA!
