It was perfect timing knowing that someone else was feeling the same way I was with my speech. I didn't know what to expect at these meetings so going with someone I kind of knew, was easier. I don't think I would have gone alone, we both still remember our first meeting but also remember how that was the first day of our beginning. I was shocked that such an organization existed and I kind of laughed at first wondering what they did at meetings - I thought it would be a bunch of old men stuttering and that's it. But as I quickly learned, it was way more than that. They have support groups for just about everything but to learn that they had one about stuttering, really was too good to be true. The best thing I ever did was to go to my first meeting. It is nice to see others attend their first meeting too knowing they will feel the same way..and hopefully they will be back too!
