Like Ken, I'm unaware of any studies which report this. However, clinically, its not uncommon to see clients whose stuttering reportedly has gone away, only to have it reoccur from time to time throughout their lives. I have come to think that in most cases, the stuttering has only disappeared from the surface. That is to say that the factors which precipitate stuttering have diminished, or the person has found ways of mitigating their stuttering... as a consequence the overt features of their disfluencies have been lessened to the degree that the individual does not find stuttering to be problematic and sort of "forgets" about it or accepts it. But in situations that are more challenging or stressful, the stuttering can tend to re-appear.
