Hi Nan and Bob, Thank you for your interesting paper. You wrote: “Arguably the most important stakeholders - PWS - frequently report that therapy that addresses cognitive and affective features of stuttering has the most long-term benefit to them”. I totally agree. I derived considerable success when I confronted my stutter on two fronts. Firstly, I consciously applied certain techniques to the physical side of my speech. The resultant control served as a springboard, giving me the confidence (and means) to address the cognitive and emotional issues. By cultivating more empowering beliefs and widening my self-image (to incorporate new challenging roles), I have been able to achieve substantial and permanent changes. I appreciate, of course, that we are all different. :-) Kindest regards Alan
