Pam, thank you for your comments. Pausing and voluntary stuttering were always a great mix of tools for my own speech as well. I will add that for some, maybe many people who stutter, pausing is not an easy strategy to incorporate. Unfortunately, so many of our physical speaking strategies tamper down the emotions of communication and pausing is no exception. For this reason and others, some people who stutter do not use or experiment with pausing.
