Dritan, thank you for sharing. I am not sure I follow all of your points, but let me make a few comments. My clients (both in the schools and in private practice) work with me to use speech tools in the therapy room and in public. It is true that speech tools are typically taught first in “lab settings.” The point is to first learn a skill (or experiment with an idea) and then practice using it where it is needed – outside of the therapy room. While I appreciate your opinion and experience, I disagree with your point that pausing doesn’t mix well with stuttering. Like any speech tool or strategy, pausing will benefit some while not appealing to or benefiting others
