Did you mean to type "..why stuttering reduces stuttering." If so, you must have meant voluntary stuttering. Perhaps you meant: "..why pausing reduces stuttering." Pausing is anti-impulsivity. Impulsivity would be feeling a stutter coming in your soma and then jumping into the speech block with momentum, force, and tension. This discussion comes back to the anticipatory anxiety/fight or flight response/panic sensation occurring immediately before so many moments of stuttering.
