I like your suggestions on using pausing as a therapy technique in stuttering, but was wondering if this might become a secondary behavior and become part of the stuttering instead of aiding in fluency. One might begin with short pauses, but then stop and take a deep breath if the short pauses don't work. This in turn may lead to multiple stops and breaths while stuttering during sound repetitions, etc. I was curious as to your thoughts on this possibility. I'm a student and thought this might be an outcome of pausing.
