Very real story; you are quite brave to face the "suits" in the boardroom (what they're called in NYC). You say repeatedly that early on until your that you were essentially insulated from any negative connotations to being a pws. Looking back (and of course hindsight is 20/20), what effect do you think being unaware of the many people who are unsupportive, uneducated and downright cruel or at the very least, that 'don't like the way you talk'? I imagine you can make the case both ways: one in that it spared you much needless pain as a child or the opposite in that it left the dealing with the tyranny of others' opinions and put-downs for later.
