Oh yeah, I can relate to this. I used to do it too. At the job I had about 4-5 years ago, we had a policy that if we were going to be out of the office, we had to say that on our voice mail,a nd then change it when we got back. I did the same thing. I would close my door, and record and playback. If I heard one little repitition, I would re-record it. Sometimes, I would do it 20 or 30 times, I didn't want any long pauses in there either. I always used to worry if anyone was outside my door waiting to see me, what they must think if they heard that. . . . . . And many tines, I would not answer my phone, preferring instead that it go to voice mail. Then I would call back on my terms, when I felt I would be more more fluent. That was part of my covert stuff. I don't re-record dozens of times anymore, although I prefer to have a fluent message on my mobile voicemail as much as possible. The things we do.
