Reuben, Thanks for sharing this wonderful story and demonstrating how courage and resulting “fear-seeking” can lead to all kinds of positive change. As an SLP, I love your contribution because it demonstrates the benefits of desensitization, how liberating it is to exercise choice, and the value of consistent speech work.
