Thank you all so much for your comments and questions over the past three weeks. I hope I was able to sufficiently respond to everyone. What we say is important, but HOW we say it DOES matter. We may not have a choice whether we stutter, but we do have a choice HOW we stutter. Working on “better” speech for me means doing something today that will make communication tomorrow more effective and enjoyable, for both the speaker and the listener. My thanks and appreciation to the army of people in my life who have helped me work on speech and communication. Stuttering is more than what you can hear, it’s how you don’t ever say what you want to because of how much fear not being able to say it how you want to. It’s not really about fluency, its really about communication. Stuttering is a communication disorder, not a speech production disorder. Overcome the communication disorder and you’ve overcome the handicap of stuttering. This is the week of October 19, stutter well Reuben Schuff
