I was immediately drawn to your paper from the Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, Zen Master, quote you put in, “You are all perfect, and you need a little work.” Your writing is extremely captivating and I, also, am a firm believer in the mind-body connection. As I read over your paper, I taped the words to your visualization and tried visualizing at a later time; it is so fascinating how in tune we can be with ourselves, and then, like a snap of a finger, we return to commotion and chaos. Also, it’s coincidence I read your essay when I did, because a good friend of mine and I had just had the conversation about practicing meditation and unraveling that connection we all encompass, but are so preoccupied to establish. My name is Natalie Miller; I am pursuing my Graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology at West Virginia University. I am curious what other approaches you believe to be necessary in helping with stuttering, or do you trust mindfulness practice to be the best approach? Thank you so much for your motivating paper and your faith on mind and body, especially in relation to stuttering.
