[[My name is Natalie Miller; I am pursuing my Graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology at West Virginia University. I am curious what other approaches you believe to be necessary in helping with stuttering, or do you trust mindfulness practice to be the best approach? Thank you so much for your motivating paper and your faith on mind and body, especially in relation to stuttering.]] >>> Natalie, Hello! To be succinct, not smart-mouthed, I think whatever is the best approach that appears necessary for a particular client is the best approach for that client. Approaches that help cultivate beliefs and behaviors that help someone become the type of communicator they want to be can, indeed, should be mutually selected to achieve that goal. Frankly, I do not know how anyone can change as they wish without being acutely aware of what they are thinking, feeling, and doing in the moment. Mindfulness meditation practice helps develop the kind of on-going self-awareness that facilitates desired change. >>> Best wishes, Ellen-Marie Silverman
