Yes, Marty did share some of his therapy experiences as an adult. I cannot recall all of them without re-reading the book, but I did find one section where he talked about his most beneficial therapy experience. In Marty's own words, this therapist "helped me come to grips with the feelings I had about my stuttering and with my perception (or misconception) of how my speech affected my life" (p.174). Speech pathologists, of course, are not psychotherapists but counseling courses like the one I took in my graduate program can help us learn how to guide our clients toward productive thinking.
