Lisa, I think what Marty meant by "insisting that a PWS is responsible for their behavior" is that people who stutter should be held accountable for their own progress in therapy. Clinicians cannot change clients who are unwilling to be changed. Marty also mentioned stuttering not being an excuse. Clinicians can help clients change their language from, 'I can't do it because I stutter,' to 'I can do it even though I stutter.' Lisa
