Jane- I wouldn't necessarily encourage parents to use these at home. I think the best thing parents can do for their children who stutter is love them unconditionally, create a safe house for stuttering, and listen to what hey say not how they say. In these ways they will certainly help the child feel more positive about themselves and less affected by stuttering. I am sure that many of my parents have told the kids at home thins they hear me say. Which is fine. I try not to overload families so I usually have them pick several things to works on a home, such as reducing interruptions, increasing one on one time, and reading to the child using easy speech. For each parent it's different certainly.
