China is different from USA. I'd say, without the development of the internet, there might not be any kind of self-help groups in China. It is like, in China, you don't see many people on wheelchair - I am sure people with disabilities that need a wheelchair may outnumber that in USA, but they either could not afford it or could not stand the social discrimination and choose to stay home.
