I picked up the number of odds for autism because, it is always there in the air. " The odds to have a boy, 1 in 2; ... the odds to have autism, 1 in 150." Have you seen, or heard the advertisement? Autism, ADHD, together with other developmental problems, may have been overdiagnosed, and the reason is simple (if it is true): money. There are pills for them, if parents buy, insurance companies will pay. Not for stuttering, and that's why stuttering is publically neglected. Of course this is a simplified explanation and kind of a conspiracy theory, the truth may be hidden deeply. I don't agree that autism is more debilitating to society than stuttering. It may depend on the degree of the disorder, and many other things. It is really hard to make judgment about which disability is more severe than another, so let's forget it. A disorder is a disorder and should get enough attention, and those who are afflicted and their families are responsible to fight for this right.
