Hi Pam, Thank you for reading (and responding to) my paper. It would be wonderful if more persons who stutter could find time to share their experiences with future SLPs. My experience has been that the students genuinely welcome and appreciate our input. In addition, I also feel that it is important to increase public awareness about stuttering. I find it SO rewarding and never cease to be amazed at the hugely positive responses that I receive. I urge you to become more involved in that area, although I am well aware that you already have a multitude of other commitments in relation to stuttering. Incidentally, my public speaking engagements (which also embrace non-stuttering related topics) have escalated to such an extent that I no longer have time to attend Association of Speakers Clubs meetings (your equivalent of Toastmasters). As a matter of interest, I didn’t attend the NSA Atlanta Conference in 2007. I think our paths must have crossed in Long Beach the previous year. Did I really recite one of my poems to you at the Saturday night banquet? Oh dear! I hope it didn’t tarnish your memories of that traditionally enjoyable event. :-) Pam, I greatly appreciate your interest and generous comments. Kindest regards Alan
