Hey Anita! By speaking to young people you are helping to improve the understanding of life itself, not just stuttering, for all people in the future. One of my most fun (and admittedly scariest) times was when I was asked to speak to a bunch of first and third graders in a huge elementary school here in Dallas last year. What could I possibly tell them? I talk about stuttering to adults all the time, but kids are a totally different audience! It was just before Christmas and it occurred to me that talking to them about being DIFFERENT might be cool. Who was different and cool? Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! I'll send you the email that I sent to many of my friends and my Toastmaster clubs. What FUN! .... But what you are doing is really making a difference in the lives of all the kids you touch! We need more people who stutter to take this message and broadcast it to the world! There is soooo much work to do! .... I sure hope you can make it to Ft. Worth next summer for the NSA conference. It's in my back yard! .... As you say - KEEP TALKING! .... Russ
