Oh Russ, why do you always have to be right! :-) But it's both yes and no. It all depends on the stutter. Never ending blocks and repetitions ARE a dread. My stutter gives me ticks, headaches, muscle aches and even hickups! So maybe I should rephrase myself and say I would throw out the HEAVY stuttering. I've learned to cope with the frustrations and even tell people to hear me out, when they fill in I say it anyway, and I even used my stutter to get what I want. :-) I'm in the media all the time because my stutter makes me interesting. I'm travelling all over the world because I stutter and meet the most amazing people who stutter and who are friends for life. But what I was trying to say was that, no matter how you feel about your stutter, it's important to accept YOURSELF and to praise who you are and what you do. To focus on your personality and your abilities. And to show that, because if you no longer focus on your stuttering and show the other part of you, of you show you're ok with who you are, people will treat you in a different way. My stutter made me stronger and made me the person I am today, the person I'm proud of today. And yes, I accept my stutter. It's a part of my life. It's a part of me. Today I stutter in a way that no longs causes me headaches. I have short blocks, 2-3 repetition of a word, starting over again etc and I only get those nasty stutters when being with PWS. :-) But those stutters that turns my body into a frozen statue? I those a few years ago and don't you dare pick them up for me! :-) Happy ISAD. Anita
