Amanda, Thank you for spending the time to read and ask a question about my visit to India. In 2006 I decided to 'do something about my speech'. I looked on the Internet for some time. I decided to 'avoid avoidance'; I stumbled on the ISA and asked if I could help them; They asked me to represent the BSA with them and to raise awareness of stuttering in India and Pakistan. This made me aware of the BSA. I joined both the BSA and ISA Boards. I found some Indians who would help me with the idea of TISA. I became Chair of ISA Outreach. Outreach will help in any country of the world where help is not readily available. In Outreach I will offer ideas and suggestions, but encourage local people to do the work required. The Indians took the challenge and TISA was formed as a Charity towards the end of last year. Greatest challenges. One challenge between 2006 and 2010 was to stop myself jumping in and doing much more to help the process to go at the speed I thought would be best. My speed, my wants have nothing to do with Indian requirements. I had to learn what they wanted and lend an occasional hand to show ISA's interest. Whilst in India, my greatest challenge was not to eat cold food, however delicious it looked because I had several meetings every day and I did not want stomach problems that many Westerners get(Smile). I suppose also I mentally worked overtime trying not to do something which would upset my gracious hosts. Keith
