I am a first year graduate student at Western Carolina University. As I look to begin my journey as a Speech Language Pathologist I have listened to my professor about marrying who I was. Many years ago, before my undergraduate experience, I had an opportunity to live in rural Montana for a couple of years. I even met a few professionals in our field while their, and was amazed at how much time they spent to travel to treat patients. I love the hope that the message of the Self-Help Support Groups give in your paper, but I'm worried that people who live in rural areas have a much harder time accessing that. Do you know of any resources for people for whom travel would be a serious imposition, if not a deciding factor? I personally use skype to communicate with several of my friends back west, but video conferencing on that is only one on one. Do you think a group setting like that would fall under the heading of tele-practice? Thank you, Ben
